Flashes keep appearing on my PS3 and it means the games are difficult to play....

...What is wrong with it? I bought it less than a year ago. It started with these small blue flashes on the screen whilst I was playing GTA 4 then it got worse until eventually the flashes blocked out the whole screen so I couldn't use that game. Then it started appearing on the PS3 menu screen and it's started happening on some of my other games. It starts with just flickering but then it becomes worse until the games become unplayable.

Can this problem be fixed or do I need to get my money back?
 
i think it can be fixed. since its less than a year, then you can take it to sony and get it fixed
