Flashed phone can't get games, help please..

I recently bought an LG VX8500 (verizon) flashed to cricket. I have a cricket account but i cant use BREW because Verizons stuff cross-cancelled with Cricket, so nothing can be downloaded (ringtones, games, etc..). My question is how can I get games on my phone? Could I just use java apps? Detailed answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
