Flash player 10 installed but not working..how to fix?

i go on youtube and videos dont play it asks for new flash player
and i installed it
but when i go back to watch a video it shows the same thing
ive looked in google for solutions and ive found a few things but i most of it i dont understand
can someone simply it for me?
i am using IE on windows vista
