Flash on My camera? please help?

Okay, so my flash on my camera suck! its way to bright and i'm wanting to change it.... this might be a stupid question but im not that tech. savy or anything. how could i change the flash on my camera to go lower or something? lol thanks.
 
You usually can't. If it's adjustable, have it angle upwards. This will light the subjects properly without making them look too washed out. You can also try creating a diffuser by layering some tissue paper over it. That takes a lot of experimentation to get it right though, so be patient.
