Flash Drive Not Recognized?

I have a 2GB Kingston flash drive, which works in every computer but mine. I plug it into my USB port, and it reports that the USB drive is not recognized. I have other USB drives that work, so I know it's not the port, and I've tried the device on several ports.

I currently have a networked drive as well, which I feel may be the cause of this problem. However, I'm open to all suggestions.

I'm a computer tech, I can handle "difficult" instructions if you have them, but I've never ran across this problem, and I can't seem to find a straight answer through google. Any help would be appreciated.
Sorry, forgot to mention I'm running XP Pro SP3, on a custom built machine. I'm not having any hardware problems, as this flash drive has worked before. Like I said, I think it is linked to the network drive, as the flash drive read before I connected with the network drive.
Even more details! I've restarted my computer, to no effect. The flash drive doesn't show up in My Computer, and I can't navigate to it through Windows Explorer. Can't figure this one out.

maybe the flashdrive is the one with a problem.

if the flashdrive works in other computers, then maybe you have this network problem, which i think is unlikyly to affect add-ons.

if you insert it, does it show any kind of icon? if yes, then try to format it. if no, then try to format it on another computer.

still not working? ive encounterd before drives that require you to install something for it to work.

try looking for it in control panel>add hardware.

hope this helps
