Hey there guys,
So last Friday, at work, 10 minutes before my break. I had a seziure, or fit, however you want to describe it; but it's all very confusing. I'm a Type 1 Diabetic, controlled quite well, and I live an averagely active life - I walk to work, and to the shops, I basically walk everywhere.
Anyways, I'll start with what I remember, last thing I remember doing is walking to the ovens I work with, hitting the stop button, then going to get the oven mits, and just falling forward onto the table infront of me, then my work collegue running over and grabbing onto me and calling for help. Then, I remember being on a chair, with paramedics around me - followed by somehow being in the back of an ambulance, and then in A and E. So you can see there are huge gaps.
After speaking to work mates, this is the full story, when my work mate grabbed me, it was because I was spasming, unable to stay still. They then TRIED to move me to the chair, but couldn't, due to my shaking, luckily, two buiulders, waiting in the que, were on hand to help move me, which they did. Aparently I ended up on the floor, in the recovary position, because I was fitting so badly. I had lost all colour, my face was blue. My nose was bleeding slightly, and I was foaming at the mouth, during this, I was slipping in and out of conciousness aparently, for example, they were trying to get me to drink something, and I was aparently pushing it away.
When I got to A and E, they watched my heartrate, because they were alarmed as to how high it was, 128, I think, and wanted it to go down before they even considered letting me go home. Then, a doctor approached me, and said that they needed to do some CRT and ECT etc, because when the paramedics took my blood sugar - it was 3.4, according to them, not low enough to have caused a fit like that. Also, for the record, I can usually tell when my sugars go down, on that Friday, it came out of nowhere. And further more, I scored 3.4 later that evening when I got home, minus the fit/seizure.
The doctors/nurses were as stumped as I was.
Any views?
