definitly learn how to pull the reel apart.
Corrosion on the inner gears from salt/dirt will cause problems down the track.
Take notes as you are pulling it apart or take pics of it as you go, to give you an idea of how to put it back together.
use oil that is meant for machinery...you don't want to just use anything.
