Fishing question, any advise?

THE DUBLINER

Would 8.7Lb line be sufficient for spinning. I'm using size 4 flying Cs and a 7ft spinning rod. I'll be after Pike or Perch or anything big enough to take the spinner. I'm also going to use dead bait on another rod which i'll be using 18Lb line. Should i use the 18Lb line for the spinning or is the 8.7Lb line strong enough? I don't have enough 18Lb line for both my reels. Fishing a big lake in Cavan that's nice & deep so less chance of snags! Any advice would be most welcome.

for God sake order another spool of line. Pike you will want as thick a line as you can get (maybe even a steel leader) I have never seen a perch that needed more than 6 pound line but you can not use the same line for both of those fish.

Yeah Arties right, get some line, man.
Perch and pike is as opposite as you can get, you'll need a light and heavy line. A steel leader is almost a must have for pikes.
18 lb line for perch is like using a javelin for a toothpick. 0_o
