Fishing in Los Angeles, near Santa Monica.?

the tuna, if any, will be 100 to 200 miles out most likely.
don't worry about the salmon. DFG never opened a season for them this year for us. maybe nor cal, oregon or washington. but that would be more than an overnight cruise...
but halibut should be available just a short ways off the beach.
and perhaps some white seabass around the islands. especially up around santa cruz island.
 
Say I have a sailboat and I want to catch Tuna or Salmon. How far would I have to go out into the sea from santa monica, and catch them?

If very far to catch those particular fish, what can be caught in the everyday sailing radius?
