Fishing in highly bioluminescent waters...?

I know, not everyone has had the opportunity, but for those of you who have fished somewhere like the Indian River Lagoon where we have bioluminescent algae and such, have you ever had much luck fishing when the biolum is up? Just wondering if it's just me, or if it's a common problem...

My theory is that because anything moving through the water agitates the algae and makes it glow, the line is glowing underwater and spooking fish off, I'd really like to be proven wrong or get some tips from anyone who has ever actually had any luck, because yeah, it's cool watching fish swim around in it, but I think it would be cooler watching a fish get caught in it...

(I'm not big on dead bait, although I think it would probably work...)
