Hi all,

I am thinking of getting a 90 litre fish tank (Aqua one 620) which comes with a built in filtration system. However I am also aware there are air pumps available. Can I get by with the in built filtration/pump system or do I also need to get the air pump. If I so what is the purpose of this device.

cheers
Also what air flow rate do I need for this 90 L tank?

Well u can get away wud the air pump if the in built pump is creating a ripple atleast on the surface of the tank for water and oxygen exchange :)

and the air flow rate for
For aquariums up to 30 gallons (114 liters) with a flow rate of 160 GPH

For aquariums up to 50 gallons (190 liters) with a flow rate of 190 GPH

Also the air flow rate will be better if u do put an air pump and let the air bubble come out slowly as it will increase the water surface which can also be done will fast moving bubbles
