fish tank peparation question?

Wow, who sold you a 9L "tank"? Do you still have the receipt? I would seriously consider taking that back. I can't think of any species of fish I'd keep in that tiny a volume.

A fish tank takes 2-6 weeks (not 3 days) to complete the nitrogen cycle. But in a tank that small it's going to be forever unstable.

I would really suggest returning that thing and getting something over 40L-50L, it will be far more rewarding in the long run, and easier to care for too!

edit: Dax, a tank will not ever be ready in 3 days unless you've cloned the filter from another established tank. The 3 days thing must date back to old fishkeeping ways in the 70s and 80s when the understanding we have now about water chemistry was still in its infant stages.

Your tank won't hold healthy fish, I really would recommend a larger one!

i got my first fish tank today. its a small 9 L one, and i bought a aqua one 101F filter.
1) the filter only pushes the water, doesnt make bubbles. is this ok?
2) i got "stress coat+" which says i have to add 5ml per 38L, so i have to add 1.2ml?
3) also got "stress zyme" which says i have to add 5ml per 38L too, so i have to add 1.2ml?
4) also got a 25W heater. im getting fresh water fish, what temperature should i set it to?

i noe i have to wait like 3 days after i put the chemicals befor puting the fish.

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!

Dont worry about the no bubbles thing the filter airates and will do fine even thought you cant see it.Set the temp to anywhere from 76-82 F and wait about three days and you are ready to go! The one big peice of advice for all first timers is to not overfeed the fish. Feeding is the funnest part, but be careful to not overfeed as it can cause all kinds of problems.
