Fish tank filter piece replacement?

I recently changed the blue filter on my AquaTech 10-gallon filter pump, and noticed that the thicker, hard sponge-like part was really dirty, so I threw it away, thinking I could get a new one at the store. I easily found the new blue filters, but the black sponge ones were nowhere to be found. I am now noticing that my water is consistently slightly murkier, and I want to get this new piece without buying a completely new filter pump. Help?
 
Go to a different store, petco will have different than walmart, every store seems to have little bit different selection.
