i was wondering, is there such a thing as a fish show? I know about cat and reptile and bird sows, but what about fish shows? If anyone knows, please put a link in you answer to a website(s) where i can see a schedule. thank you.

That's not the kind of show he means!! He's talking about a competition between fish.

Yes there are. All clubs have some kind of shows, and bigger clubs have regional and national shows, just like for cats and dogs.

Some websites I could find quickly...

Most local clubs don't do a lot of publicity outside their area, and since it's just changed to 2009, a lot of the websites don't have current information.

Look to see what aquarium clubs are in your area, and contact them for show dates. Or find a national or international club based on the kinds of fish you like. Their shows are more spectacular because they have more entries!

Also you can find a club listing in the back of most fish magazines at the pet stores.

Like a convention? The best way to learn about conventions is to look in the back of fish magazines (which can be found at magazine places). if there is a large event going on it will be advertised in the advertisement section all the way in the back.

OMG! There's millions! I just googled 'fishing shows on tv' and there are too many to link you to.

I raise bettas, so these are the betta show events I pay attention to:

If you're into guppies, you're more interested in these shows:

There are other ways to find out about shows in your area.
1. Call up your local attraction sites and ask them for the schedule for the upcoming year. If any interesting events stand out, you can usually go to them for a minimal entrance free. It's nice to live near a large expo center.
2. Order those magazines dedicated to the hobby and they'll have show dates and locations listed in them. The ones listed in the magazine may be far away from where you live.
3. Clubs that are in your area that meet on this topic will have all the up to date information on local shows. There's a fish club that meets monthly near where I live. I found them by going to google and typing in my town name and the word "fish".
