ok so im fairly new to keeping fish and i'm pretty sure my female black Molly has ich. The past 2 days my fish have not been feeding like normal. They usually go stratight up to the top of the tank as soon as I open the hood as soon as I put food in they go wild. Well a couple of days ago I noticed that they were not going as crazy when I started to feed them so I thought maybe I was over feeding them so I didn't feed them yesterday thinking today it would be the usual feeding time but it wasnt, so I really checked them out today and on my black molly I noticed white-ish spots all over her,I did not notice any other fish with it only her. I have not personally had to deal with ich (I have done some reading and kinda know what to do but I just want to make sure that before I do treat Im doing everything correctly.
(all fish are Female) (not sure on sex of the babies yet)
I have 1 Black Molly
2 Dalmation Mollies
1 White Molly
1 Female Betta
8 baby Mollies that are about 2 weeks old at most
and 4 Assassin snails (I have a snail infestation that I have been trying to control since purchasing Top Fin Live plants that PROMISE not to have snails on them that really do)
What I'm not sure of is do I need to take out the baby fish?
Do I need to take out the snails?
Im going to add my heater but what should it be set at?
Is taking the carbon out of the filter correct to treat it with the ich treatment?
How long do I treat it for?
And should I just leave the light off while I'm treating it? Its not a uv light it just has the regular yellowish bulbs.
And...
When should I change the water before or after I treat or both?
Do the plants need to be taken out?
