Just wanted to say hello, and am the proud owner of new S40. Took posession just yesterday subsequent to about 8 months of research. I have not ridden in years and took the MSF course last Fall. Got hooked and decided to purchase a bike, but which one? My thoughts were something small and light, and you all know the ones available. My buddy at work has been riding continually since 1968. He introduced me to the Suzuki S40 at a local dealership, and it just felt perfect. I test rode the bike last Friday after work, and signed the check on Saturday morning. We picked up the bike yesterday, and I rode it locally most of the evening. Bottom line is that I could not have made a "Better Decision" than the S40. My wife picked the color, white, and all the guys in my neighborhood that ride commented on what a good looking machine it is. Thanks for letting me share my enthuisiam, as you all know or remember the "Feeling". Can't wait to ride again ............. Rich

Thank you my friends for the "Kind Welcome", this forum is a great source of information, not to mention the comaraderie, again thank you. Took a nice 20 mile round trip last evening and each time out, I learn something more. I'm also a pilot and been flying the past 25 years. When I was a Student Pilot, a good friend of mine told me that the day I get in the plane and don't "Fear It" to quit flying. I see a lot of similarities between planes and motorcycles (IMHO). I'm not ashamed to admit to you, that I do "Fear the Bike", but not enough not to ride (I am really hooked). Both activities require "Training & Practice" to become proficient. We pre-flight the plane, and pre-check the bike. We also pre-check ourselves, both mentally and physically. There are rules about how fit we are to fly, or what medications you may be taking (even over the counter). Again, IMHO, I would think the same thing applies to motorcycles. At this point in my riding, I can't imagine being complacent. When I ride my senses are stoked, but what a rush! I'll be doing a lot of reading on this forum, and unfortunately have more questions then anything worthwhile to offer. Thank you again for sharing your experiences and technical knowledge. I would like to find a good "Shop Manual" for the S40, if one exists. ...... God Bless, Rich

:bluethum: Great to see someone else with a passion for flight and for the road. I too have been flying for about 15 years now and riding off and on for 25. You are so right as the how similar the two are. Just as I would never even think of taking a flight without doing a through pre-flight and checking my safety equipment, I would never dream of taking a ride with out checking over my bike. My CFI told me one
