looking to get a first time car...dont even know what to get any suggestions would be good too?

someone told me to get a clio but then another friend said thats a womans car lol...so i cant be driving any lady cars as im a man.

any help much appreciated to a noob in this field....thanks
as im 21 and a new driver i want something that will be cheap on insurance too

Petrol and diesel are roughly the same price, however for the factor of the engine noise level I'd recommend petrol, though I'm really no expert.

This is really personal preference. I have had nothing but diesels for last 10 years, but then i do 30k+ a year so a diesel is the right choice for me. They do say that almost 50% of break downs on the road are ignition system related - a diesel does not have an ignition system!

To call any car a 'womans car' is just plain stupid. A car is a car is a car. A car is one thing ONLY - a tool to get you from point A to point B. The minute you forget or ignore that basic fact motoring becomes a very expensive pleasure indeed!

I would say though that the Clio is not the most reliable of cars.

well diesels you will get more miles to the gallon then you would from a petrol. and don't be put of the mileage you find alot of diesels will be high there engines are alot stronger then a petrol if its got full service history it be fine, My ford diesel as got at least 87k on the clock, But its can do alot more, I have seen diesels with over 250k and going strong,

Insurance is a lotto depending where u live, If you live in london for example expect to pay alot of insurance.

I live in london, Even tho i been driving 5 years my insurance still high then someone living in kent
