First Time Camper Question?

I have never been camping before and a guy friend of mine has offered to take me for a "real deal camping trip". As in off the beaten path out in the wood near a creek sort of thing. I am all for it but do have a slight concern....I realize that bathing will be done in the creek. But can you use soaps? Or will that harm the wildlife. And more importantly what do you do about the bathroom situation???

Is this an actual campsite? Then they have bathrooms.. If not make sure you get toliet paper!! and you can use soap in a lake its fine!

Biodegradable soap is available at camping stores, although you could just boil some water and rinse your body with it if you're concerned about wildlife.

Buy soap that doesn't have phosphates. You probably want to go to a camping store and pick up some little neccessites like bug spray.
Make sure you take toilet paper and doggie bags.
Hopefully you won't be going #2 but it will be in the woods, use the doggie
bag to clean up or bury it after you're done. You never know what kind of animals it will attract.

I never go camping without a sidearm. Too many crazies out in the woods.

I was a boy scout so listen closely.
