Tonight on my way home in a rush to beat curfew, i drove 60 mph in a 40 mph zone, and when i was seconds away from home, i get pulled over. im very nice about the whole thing, and the cop was nice too. i tell him i was in a rush to get home and told him i know i was going 20 miles an hour over the speed limit. so he walks away and comes back with a speeding ticket for $134.20 and estimated 6 points off my DL.
This being my first ticket ever, could i argue that the fine and the number of points taken was a bit much for a first offense, and possibly get one or both lowered? Im 17 years old by the way, if age is a factor. thanks for replies!
