road biker

Hello I'm intending to get a road bike to exercise and take part in entry level marathons. It will be my first real road bike and I have tried on several bikes. I'm planning to get SCOTT WOMENS S35. It is going to cost me SGD$1179. So my question is, is this bike worth the price considering that the components are shimano's lowest grade?? Pls advise. Ty
