I'm terrible at writing essays!! For my 4th year eng course I've chosen to write about the depiction of women in First Nations poetry for my term paper. I have two particular poets (pauline johnson and Marilyn dumont) who have written poems about first nations women; in one poem the women are seen as weak, loose and dirty, ("Squaw Poems") and in the other, women are displayed as strong and noble ("the Cattle Thief"). I would like to talk about the differences in these poems, but i have no idea how to set up my paper and can i talk about this for 3000 words? Should i add another poet? Any ideas would be fantastic!
