Sound of Music (on a re-release in the 70s) when I was 5. When they still had an interval in the middle! (just after the party when she leaves to return to the abbey, in case anyone is interested)
What was the first film that you saw in the cinema? What do you think of the film now?
The first film that i saw in the cinema was Beauty and the beast that came out in 1991. I was three years old when i first watched this film. This is a great film and would be in my top five favourite Disney films.
Mine was also ET,iwas only about3/4,my Mum told me she was worried that i would cry or get restless but apparentley i sat captivated trough the whole thing!
I think you have the record for earlist there. That must have been around 1940 about 65 years ago when you where 8 or 9. Sorry I had to sneak a look at your profile.
Unfortunately my 1st movie (about 1953) was not anything so memorable. I just remember it was in colour.
Of course up until about 1960 (IIRC) the first film anyone saw was at the cinema as TV did not show movies; indeed Tv did not show anything at all in 1940.
I was shocked films lasted so long! After the trailers, my parents said "did you enjoy that?" and pretended to leave (as everyone does) and I thought it really had finished!
Casper 1. I went to the cinema in Corfu to see it. I also remember seeing Matilda, Babe, Star Wars ninties re-release, Space Jam, Mr Bean, The Spice world movie, George of the Jungle and the Rugrats Movie.
The first one I remember was Jaws. Firstly because the head rolling out of the sunken boat scared the life out of me and secondly because my Mum lost her wedding or engagement ring and never did get it back
