First film you ever saw at the pictures and where?

Flash Gordon - 1980. Cine City in Withington, Manchester.

Loved it.

However, my next trip to the movies was to see Condorman, with Michael Crawford & Oliver Reed. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.....

It was Hand That Rocks the Cradle whilst on vacation in Edmonton, Canada.

The tension that movie created was immense for the Canadians and they shock and screams when she was hiding in the basement was very audable.

I'm not 100% sure, but the first film I remember seeing was a reissue of Snow White in about 1985(ish). I seem to recall being totally uninterested in it at the time though ;)

I remember Wakefield's old Sun Lane cinema very very vividly too, it was completely crushed circa 1998 by Cineworld and just vanished overnight.

Three screens, queues outside, 'Flicks' magazine free in the foyer,

The re release of The Jungle Book. I was only young and it must of been about 13/14 years ago now. It was in The Royal Opera House in Scarborough. Not soon after that it was destroyed by fire.

The Sound of Music. I was 5 so it would have been roughly 1977. Must have been a re-release. And it would have been a cinema in High Wycombe.

The days when they had an intermission (just after Maria leaves to go back to the convent, if anyone was wondering).
