First fatality-free month in Iraq...

Detroit murder rate is 40 per 100k, dunno how much of that is shootings... of course if you narrow it down to a high risk demographic like a young black kid living in the ghetto then its higher... and in that case it might even be possible, especially since only 1/5 US corabat deaths are shootings and not IERAB (insurgents learned pretty fast that if you actually stay in the open long enough to fire a weapon at coalition forces you get a 500lb borab dropped on your head)
 
Yeah, it would be a bit of a misleading stat since most deaths in Iraq are from IERAB. It would still be ironic nonetheless if the nurabers were even remotely close.
 
Like I said, if you compare the entire population (including babies, and old white grannies that stay away from trouble) then it would be higher in Iraq. But if you narrow it down to higher risk groups like youths who live in gang/drug areas then its probably similar if not higher in Detroit, DC, etc.... Of course, there are "higher risk" subsets of the US military as well...
