First Driving Lessons- DMV test area?

Hi,

I have to teach my wife driving and she will do this first time. Is it legal and ok to have her first lessons in the driving test area of the DMV? If not, where do I get her started with the first lesson. Obviously I cant do that on the road itself. I need her to get going for 1 hr before we can hit the roads with traffic.
We are in central NJ area.
 
no - they usually will not allow you to use the DMV area for practicing. However, if you do it really early or later when they aren't open, no one should catch you.
