First Details on Seth MacFarlane?s Fourth Show

Something tells me you won't be happy. If this ends up o a Sunday night and one show has to be sacrificed, it's probably going to be American Dad, unless they permanently put it in a death slot and kill it slowly like Futurama.

Actually, I think Roger is the closest thing Stan has as a best friend, since he sometimes helps him out. They do do have a friendship with each other(remember Roger Codger), even though Roger ticks off Stan vice-versa.

My thoughts on a fourth Seth show aren't really positive. The Simpsons leaving Fox Sunday nights will never happen since the series is still profitable, so American Dad might get the boot (which is a shame because I would've wanted one more season after Season 6.) Also, it's another family show but with a female lead . At this point, Seth should be tired of doing family shows and go for something different like Matt Groening with Futurama.

I noticed that they mentioned 'a family and pets', but they never mentioned where they live or the situation. Maybe this isnt just another 'generic' family show. Maybe its about a family that goes on adventures like 'Secret Saturdays'. Or, maybe its a family of animals, or half-animals.
Idk, maybe Seth has something unique for us.

I just don't really see Rodger being Stan's best friend. A regular friend I see him as.

And in regards to The Cleveland Show if anyone on that show is Cleveland's best friend it's definitely Terry.

Just because Tim is an animal doesn't automatically make him Cleveland's best friend.

I may be one of the few that think this might be better than what it's being made out to be. It has potential since it'll be different since it's going to be a woman as the main character but hopefully it doesn't mirror the other shows too much.

I'm not a big fan of Family Guy anymore, it's still ok but not as good as it was the first couple of seasons. I still like Family Guy the best overall but American Dad is ok too. I still can't get into the Clevland Show and probably won't ever. I would expect it to be the Clevland Show that might get cut, imo.

Hopefully the new show won't be that bad but I'll wait and see.

Because FOX loved Futurama and treated it so well, right?

Who says Seth doesn't want to try something different? My guess is that FOX probably is the one who wants to play it safe. I actually think this is great, mainly due to the sheer amount of people it will probably tick off.

Would I do the same thing if I were in Seth's position? I don't know, maybe? Maybe not. Maybe if I call him out on this now, then some day in the future if, God willing, I end up in his position and I'm given a similar choice, I'll think back to my criticisms of him and make the right decision. If we always just let people off the hook because "we'd do the same thing", it wouldn't end well.

This is a good possibility.

FOX could have ordered it to have a family included and of course they probably didn't.
It would be nice if he could shed a little more light.

This isn't an attack or anything but I don't see how people can say this. Maybe the third season is about on par with the early post-cancellation episodes but these days I just don't see the appeal in the second and especially the first season. All it is is a slightly edgier Simpsons and Stewie's "I must complete the device! Damn you vile woman" stuff was funny for about a month in 1999. Sure these episodes were more plot heavy but I just don't find them very funny.

Isn't The Cleveland Show doing well?

Ok the critics are overreacting saying it's a Family guy clone it probably won't be. Sure a pet maybe it won't talk like Cleveland's didn't. Okay a Family setting how do you know for sure it won't be just the main characters middle aged Mom and Dad and her daughter, or Her Aunt and Her 2 kids.

Just don't look it as oh gosh here goes Seth Moneybags and his animated circus. Because it you look at it Star Trek, Marvel, and D.C. do the same things and they are rolling in dough. Just wait for it and watch it and if you don't like it don't watch simple as that.

And I really doubt American Dad or The Simpsons will get canceled American Dad because it made a lot of DVD sales and Adult swim will probably pick it up if Fox was desperate, And Simpsons because it's a beast all it's own. They'll probably just put the show on Fridays or Thursdays those are their worst day. If you hadn't notice Fox is getting three other Cartoons so if they're really serious they might start Animation Domination at 5 or just move it to Saturdays it could happen

Their relationship is sort of like Brian and Stewie's. They don't always get a long, but in more recent episodes they've become more chummy with each other.

I'm also with DarthGonzo on this. With so many sitcoms not based around families failing it's probably Fox making Seth go through with Family sitcoms.

There's a continuation of hate towards Seth Macfarlane whenever his new tv shows come out. First you can't blame Seth for the animation sucking so much or the humor being unfunny.

You can blame the writer and the character designer. The designs for Family Guy were first drawn by Seth and then over the eyars were consistently watered down with each new episodes and now he is just a big mess of shapes. Second the thing about the writing not being funny can be Seth's fault too because the writer's have basically been inspired by his humor and they have his totally random humor that relies upon pop culture. Seth voices the entire show basically and the jokes that are written are accepted and they go right past him. Seth's forward attitude on his own tv show could be said as the downfall of it because he's not taking that much control and a lot of the show is being run by other people. He also okays these other ideas by other people too and that's how they get their own shows. The voices are all the same too. No range.
It's just him tightening his throat.

Would FOX let Mike Henry or whoever else make a show without a big ol piece of paper saying "I KNOW SETH MACFARLANE"? No.

So much more to explain.. but don't got the time.

SHOCKER OF SHOCKERS!

As soon as this rumored show was announced, I saw this coming ten miles away.

There's really no room left for poor Seth. He clearly has tons of joke material going on in his head; why doesn't he just insert them into the shows he already has instead of creating new ones?

I only agree with this on terms of background characters where you can tell if they're being voiced by him or not.

Yes, thank you and I prefer the animation the way it is now instead of the way it was in the earlier seasons.

The more recently seasons have stiff animation, I'll admit that. But the earlier seasons (especially the first two) are very lumpy and off model and look as awkward to me now as the first season of The Simpsons does. I think they've tweaked the character designs just enough in recent years that characters like Peter and Quagmire are just funny to look at. And there are some really nice backgrounds and detail on the show now that are oftentimes very impressive. The earlier seasons have backgrounds so bad they look like they were drawn on Mario Paint.

IMHO they way they drawn Peter now is so funny and so consistent that it doesn't take much for me to laugh at his antics. It's the same thing that happened when the bugs were ironed out of the Homer or Beavis' designs. I watch the earlier episodes of Family Guy now and cringe at the odd character models, such as those appaling side angles. I'm glad they've gotten rid of most of those.
