FIRST CAR! HELP? WHAT DO I GET?

i'm 16 and i want to start looking for my first car. i dont get my license til may 2010 but i want to make sure i can buy a car by then or close to that time. how much should i be willing to spend on my first car and what kind of car. its only my first so nothing big. i prefer cavaliers. but not sure if its a good choice as a first car. plsss give me a hand. a list w/ website. im in chicago so if u know anyone selling a decent car around chicago lemme know. thanks XD
 
A good first car is a honda civic. No older then 1997. You can get a pretty good one for around 2500-3000... To find one, you can go to craigslist.com and click on chicago for your city and look.
