Was watching first blood. The movie that started the Rambo franchise. Its amazing that this one actually has a plot. What I like about it is that you really side with Rambo when he was abuse by the sheriff department because he was drifter. Then when he started having flashbacks when he was tortured in Vietnam and broke out of jail. Thats when the movie turns into a chase movie. It always gives you a feeling of the soldiers that return from Vietnam to a country that turned on them. Guess what I'm saying is that First Blood in one of my top 5 films of all time that everybody should watch at least once.
 
It's also the least bloodthirsty Rambo movie : he doesn't actually kill anyone, unless you count the dumb redneck who falls out of a helicopter.:)
 
One of my all times faves...hugely underated. And the speech at the end that Rambo gives must be Sly's best bit of acting...after Copland ! The bit where he falls into the tree's and cuts his arm is real...he actually split his arm open....when he shouts oh Je*us...thats for real !!!
 
very good film. The script went around hollywood for years before it was finally made.

Steve McQueen was going to do it as he like the motorcycle chase scene but they couldn't stretch that into a 2 hour film so the idea went away until Stallone made it.

Rambo 2 was average and Rambo 3 was dire. Lets hope that Rambo 4 is as good as Rocky Balboa was.
 
Absolute classic

"You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hanRAB. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best"
 
watched all three rambo movies last week, great action-packed stuff!!

shed a tear at his empassioned speech at the end of first blood

cheered as he released the gi's from the prison camp, and when he blowed up that skinny little runt of a camp commander with the explosive-tipped arrow, in R2 .....

and who dosn't like a blinking massive tank against a blinking massive helecopter charge in R3

the fourth one should be just as policically incorect ..... and exciting!
