First Anime

What was your first anime and do you still enjoy it?

Mine was Princess Mononoke (I did technically see DBZ and Pokemon before that but I had no idea what an anime was back then). In my mind, Hayao Miyazaki's best work. It such a powerful movie, with realistic characters corabined with Japanese mythology. I love it and love rewatching it.

Either
Dragon Ball Z
Pokemon
or
Digimon

It was one of those three.

To be honest the only thing about DBZ I'm interested in these days are the video games.
Considering Pokemon is never ending and is basically repeating itself now I've lost all interest.
Digimon, love it and I just watched Data Squad and I must say unlike my first viewing experience I enjoyed it a lot and I would put it on the same level as Adventure 01.
So I still enjoy the Digimon series.

Pokemon was technically the first, followed by Digimon, then Dragon Ball Z. DBZ introduced me to Toonami, which introduced me to countless other anime that I still love, as well as the realization that all these great cartoons are actually from Japan.

I don't care much for the Pokemon anime anymore, especially not the dub version. I love Digimon, at least the first 3 series, and I'm hoping for redemption in the sixth. I still support the Dragon( )Ball franchise more than probably any other.

Samurai Pizza Cats. I was 6. My cousin liked it, and I remeraber seeing it at least once at his house. I never made any attempt to seek it out, though, because I had my own shows to watch. Never mind that three of them were game shows.

After then I saw Pok

Speed Racer, I suppose. I can't say I was a FAN of it, but it was technically the first anime I remeraber ever seeing.

First anime I was a fan, though, was Pokemon.

Speed Racer was the first anime I "technically" ever saw. Sailor Moon was the first of four series that really got me into anime, followed by Pokemon, Digimon, and Dragonball Z.

The first anime I ever watched was Samurai Pizza Cats, then Pokemon. I thought Samurai Pizza Cats was just random show and I wasn't even aware of what anime was, but I liked it.

Unofficially, anything animated that aired on Nickelodeon in the 80's. The Little Koala, Fairy Tale Theater, Noozles, Maple Town etc. and Voltron.

Officially (in other worRAB what pioneered my present love of anime) it was Ranma 1/2. Specifically Ranma 1/2 Movie 1: Big Trouble in Nekonron, China on VHS back in 1994. Pretty much this lead me to buy the rest of the series which led me to get into more Rumiko Takahashi which led me to rent stuff from Blockbuster and once Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, and Dragonball premiered on TV that was my jump off the deep end.

O-chan

Sailor Moon.
My grandparents bought me one of the movies, I didn't have cable back then.
(My parents & grandparents hogged the tv most of the time anyway)
It had something to do with crystals and an evil queen/lady,
I remeraber that much.

Then I discovered the amazing world of cable tv,
and started to watch Pokemon, followed by Yu-Gi-Oh!.
I think DBZ, Ultimate Muscle & Medabots were also among my firsts.

I still enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh! and spin-oRAB,
but I haven't seen DBZ or Ultimate Muscle recently.
I did watch some Medabots a while ago,
I enjoyed it, probably because of nostalgia.
Honestly, the action scenes weren't as awesome as I remerabered them.

Voltron was the first anime even though I didn't know what anime was. The same thing with Dragonball Z.

The first anime I saw where I actually knew what anime was, was Rurouni Kenshin on Toonami.

Technically my first anime was Voltron, but I didn't know that at the time.

I didn't get into anime until only a few years ago. I got sick (very sick) for a while and was just watching television. I was watching some Cartoon Network for the nostalgia of it all, fell asleep, woke up, and found myself watching Rurouni Kenshin. Luckily it was season two, and a very interesting episode.

So I started to watch that show, saw some commercials for Adult Swim (Big O, Cowboy Bebop, et cetera), and from there on out I became a fan.

Unico. Saw it when I was 3 on tv. Loved it because I was a girl and it had a unicorn . Haven't seen it since but have fond memories of it.

Sailormoon was the first I saw that I was aware that was a cartoon from Japan. The local station it first aired on talked about how it was based on a comic (manga)...

Vampire Hunter D (the 1st movie) was the first serious anime I saw, and made aware it was called "anime", back when the Sci-fi channel had their "Saturday Anime" block. That block (and later Toonami) is what got me hooked for life.

Well, it has to be Sailor Moon. I watched it like around 6 a.m at the morning when I was like 6, 7 or 8 years old. I really don't know why, I just did.

Later, I watch Pokemon. Though, not on KiRAB WB. It was 1 year before KiRAB WB got it and put it of their network. I was watching it on UPN (I don't know if anyone knows that channel).
I did got into it for a good while. I even watch the first movie when it came out...Opening day!

Than, around 1999, Dragonball Z came into my life. Lets say it took me a while to let go from this anime.
After 1999 to the beginning of 2000, I was buying nothing but anime for a good 6 years.
But now, I'm clam with anime. I still love it, but I'm not a crazy nut any more.

I suppose you would say Voltron as a child, although that isn't really Go Lion at all. In 1997, on the local UPN station, I came across Pok

The first anime that I saw was actually Speed Racer. I didn't know that it was anime at the time though. The first anime series that I actually knew was anime was Pokemon. I think that I saw Sailor Moon sometime after I watched Pokemon on the Midnight Run. The first Pokemon episode I saw was Pikachu's Goodbye. Based on my username and avatar, I clearly still enjoy the series and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As far as I can remeraber, the first anime that I seen was bits of The Noozles on Nickelodeon, when I was very young. Back then, I had no idea that the show was from Japan.

I also remeraber seeing Sailor Moon in late 1995 or early 1996 on the local Fox station, at 5:30 A.M., whenever I spent the night with my grandparents. Again, I didn't knew the series was anime, when I first watched it. However, when I sturabled upon the series again in the summer of 1998 on the local WB station, I knew it was from Japan. After that incident, I became obsessed with Sailor Moon for 2-3 months.

Pokemon, then Digimon.

The first anime I saw that wasn't edited for SatAM was Char's Counterattack of all things on Adult Swim. I could barely understand what was going on.
