Not bad for 5th grade I guess. And Yes I still like Blink 182 to an extent. Enema of the state will get a play every once in a while when I'm in the modd but I'm a fan of Dude Ranch and Cheshire Cat.
I guess I was kinda of iinto weezer back then too.
Yeah, funny story actually. My guitar teacher gave me the album when I was like 8. All I wanted to play was Linkin Park and stuff, but he was like "Here, listen to this." I fell in love.
wow dude, that takes some serious guts to own up to hahahah
my first album was a little earlier than that (i'm sure i've posted it here before but whatever).
first band i loved and felt like the music was being played specifically for the benefit of my ears was Mother's Milk-era Chili Peppers, no band has blown my mind to that degree since.
Me too that was the first album i ever bought, mine was on cassette though. Oasis were definitely the first band that i really got into, my first band t-shirt was an Oasis one, and my first ever gig was Oasis.
I don't really listen to them anymore, apart from maybe the odd track on 'Definitely Maybe'. My 'What's The Story...' cassette was literally played to death and i never bothered to replace it on cd, and my 'Be Here Now' and 'Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants' CRAB are knocking about somewhere.
Inspired by my older sister, this was the first album I owned. On cassette. Word. Read my journal for all the details on this one.
I'd love to say the first band I was into was the Smashing Pumpkins, as they are the ones that changed my life musically, but this was the first band where I actually tracked down all their albums until my collection was complete.
There were albums and singles before this I thnk, but this was the frst album that was ever completely mine rather than something i borrowed or stole from my sister. Yes, I still like it. It has some stinkers on it like Heal The World but also some solid tracks.
First gutar-driven band I ever developed a liking for and so probably started my love of music from that point on.
First album was a best of cassette from The Beach Boys purchased around 1985 or 86.
First band I ever 'loved' was Bon Jovi.
Love is a strong word, though. I loved the album Slippery When Wet, thought the follow-up New Jersey was alright, and that was the end of my 'love' affair with this band.
Perhaps a more accurate first 'love' would be Poison, though I think I started listening to them after Bon Jovi. But I liked them more and for longer.
