First 9 minutes of Eva 1.01 streamed

It's non-important only because it's Ritsuko.

If it were Misato...

Will the ending make sense?
Or is it just gonna be another "congratulations for graduating from your 'suicidal anonymous' group"?
(Which is a bad ending not only for its stupidity, but also because we aren't rewarded with Shinji's death.)

1.01 is the Theatre version, with unintentional darkness. The last 30 minutes especially is a real difference.

1.11 is with 4 extra minutes of footage, with no darkness.

There would be that huge white scar throughout her front.

Shinji was never suicidal. Depressed as hell, but never suicidal.

And EoE is canon, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Could be a one-piece.

Besides... I'd still hit it.

I've only seen the television version.

I was asking if the movie ending is similar to that.
Cause he was too much of a scared cry-baby to go through with it.

Point is that ending scene was totally inspired by some sort of "anonymous" group therapy.
I don't know anything about the writers, but I bet you one of them had some issues and graduated from one of those things.
It's just so obvious.

Not even close. Shinji rejects instrumentality, so everyone becomes one except Asuka and him, being the only ones with enough resolve to return back to the world. They hint that anyone can, but....

Yeah, Anno had depression. He was in one in the first half of EVA, and was recovering from it in the second half. It's pretty much common knowledge. Anyone that took psychology can tell how accurate it is in that department.

And the ending wasn't artistic. It ran out of money due to corporate backstabbing.

Meh, I've already seen the best possible EVA ending possible in Super Robot Taisen. Nothing like refusing Instrumentality on sheer courage.

If I remeraber, Anno said he wanted to make this ending not as controversial as the last one was.

I guess death threats do that to a person.

I tried watching that show and there are so many mecha and characters I had no earthly idea what was going on.

Here's what I'm confused about. At the very beginning of 1.0, was that meant to be a look at the future after the third impact with those opening shots, or was that just a lanRABcape shot of the present day earth before we see Shinji?

That rumor is just stupid. The most Gainax ever got was graffiti from a religious protester.

Present day. It's consistent throughout the movie.

I remeraber reading that... I wound up losing interest a few chapters in but that's just me. Although...

I heard that along the way Shinji turns into an angel. That has me interested.

No, not a rumor. Angry letters and death threats are literally included during End of Evangelion. The American DVD even subtitles it with "Die, Anno!"

He was. Even as early as episode four, we saw him sitting by himself atop a very high cliff, which is described in the original script as "the edge of a cliff that looks like a famous suicide site." And early on Anno had this to say:

Anyway.. Like a lot of people I have mixed feelings toward Evangelion. Its influence is tremendous, and even with its budget problems Evangelion is still a work of very fine quality (which stanRAB out all the more now considering the quasi-slump the anime industry is in). Evangelion can still hold its own against some of the best shows out there. But boy does it have problems...

What it gets right: Evangelion is basically the Watchmen of anime. It deconstructs a stagnant comic-booky genre by focusing on its clich

The rumor in which so much quantity of death letter pushed Anno to "troll" with EoE is what I'm talking about. EoE was planned since the series, not something "pushed to the brink by fans."

Somehow you think it's supposed to deconstruct things like everyone else....you do realize the fanservice is parodying, right? Anno's previous work included Gunbuster, inventor of the Gainax bounce.

And the merchandise has nothing to do with the show whatsoever, so I dunno how that figures into watching it.

And those people are the ones I especially dislike. Dude, it's a cartoon that was made in a wacky production era. People make it too much or argue the too-muchness that it's laughable. A thesis? Really?
