advice or suggestions? I have just successfully installed a PCI Express card for a Firewire port to capture video from my Panasonic GS80 miniDV, and I'm trying to capture using Windows Movie Maker 2.1. The computer recognizes "new hardware" when I turn the camera on in play mode, but the movie maker program tells me I cannot capture with no device to capture from. All drivers are up to date. All connections are secure. I am using only play mode on the camera. I have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers for the Firewire port card, reinstalled service pack 2 for XP (for the Windows Movie Maker), my computer has been updated, I have called Panasonic and they have no clue why it's not working. They say the camera does not need a driver because I am not trying to use USB, and that firewire cable does not require a driver. The camera is simply not recognized by the capturing program. When I turn the camera on, the computer notices it as new hardware, then tries to get me to "install" it through the hardware wizard, which there is no software to install, so it tells me installation has failed. I have no idea what to do. I have tried everything that I know of that I can try. Please, if you have any other suggestions as to what I can try, let me know.
