FireFox Clearing recent history?

Hey i just wanted to know what each option does when i clear it. I've had problems with certain passwords not saving and not even prompting me anymore so i figured i kept on clearing it through this.

Site Preferences
Active Logins
Cache
Cookies
Form & Search History (Does this effect Passwords?)

If anybody can tell me what these actually reset and maybe an example of what it does or something that would be great. Thx in advance.

Site Preferences: Like the name says. The features you want on and off on any website.
Active Logins: Anything you have that is already logged in. I think this one is better than deleting cookies.
Cache: This stores information on your computer. BUT you can set it to a limit if you don't want much of it.
Cookies: They send information to the server and save your username and password. You clear these if you don't want it to remember your password. (Also, firefox has a username/password vault if you delete cookies by accident)
Form and search history: No. Its what you for example search on google or other search engines and fill out on registration forms that are usually there. If you type in "Cats" and then type in "C" then Cats will be your first search suggestion.
