Finishing up 1966 Mustang Restoration, bought 90% finished?

I bought a 1966 mustang coupe today, it has the straight 6 200 engine with a 3 speed on the floor. Most of the hard work has been done, but its mine to finish. It had been parked a year. The paint and body work are done, as is the interior. It just needs a few things.
It is missing a front shock, the spring is there though. The other shock is complete. I guess i'll just replace both?
Needs a front bumper. It doesn't have one.
Needs a battery and a distributor. Battery is shot, distributor works but is quirky and probably about to fail on me.
It needs both headlights, but the wiring is there.
I am unsure as to the condition of the transmission, but it was apparently working fine before parked a year ago. It took us a few hours to get it started again since it had been sitting so long, but it ran strong once we got it to crank. The clutch pedal has pressure, and (at least while off) the gears shift smoothly.

Does anyone have any general advice on what parts to get, what to avoid, where to order them from, or just general tips for restoring this mustang? Thanks
