Not bad. The best bit is where the Galactic Marines are holed up in a fort on the Bug planet, desperately making a last ditch stand as wave after wave of giant insects attack with unstoppable force.
^ Thanks guys . (grassmarket I have a feeling you are pulling my leg slightly!) I have started watching it. I kind of like films like these, magical christmassy feel to them.
My OH is a bit gutted though, moaning about going to pub now! (how easy was that!?)
I loved this film so much, it was just so heartwarming, and great chemistry between Depp & Winslet, I thought she was wonderful in her role. Perfectly balanced. It was so sad at the end and Freddie was wonderful as Peter.
My wife wanted this film on Blu-Ray. I told her that there was no need to get it on anything other than DVD, but she wouldn't listen.
We still haven't finished watching it yet, and we bought it nine months ago. It was quite boring in our opinions. It wasn't awful - just not exciting enough for our concentration not to wane.
Some people seem to like it though. Each to their own.
I couldn't see anything in it either and I was really annoyed by the way Johnny Depps character, J M Barrie, neglected his really nice wife and hurt her feelings.
All that playing with little boys would have been viewed with much suspicion if it had happened today too!.
I didn't feel at all sympathetic to the central character.
