Finding Anime Names & General Anime Q&A

Ok, this take a little bit so strap yourselves in. First of all, I'd like to introduce myself to everybody and just say hello.
Onto business. When I was young, maybe 10 years ago, I remember seeing an anime on sunday morning cartoons. I didn't know what anime was back then, but I know now that it definetly was one.
The anime was set in space, and centered on the crew of this space ship (I think, amy have been a station or colony), one of the guys on the ship wasn't human, but he could either turn into a fighting robot, or had armor that surrounded him, anyway, he is the main character. He looks human but he isn't, and come from a race of beings who all have the ability to turn themselves into robots. He turns into this robot to fight whatever the people in the space station fought (I'm sorry I can't remmeber what they were fighting), but he can only stay in his robot form for about thirty minutes, longer and he loses his mind and goes crazy. One of the earlier episodes, he is fighting, and after the fight is over he is just drifting in space, not undoing his transformation (by the way, it isn't a mecha robot, it is a lifesize robotic shell). The other main male charcter, who is human, shoots him just in case (the character's name, as I recall, was Ringo, at least in the english version) and the main character (whose name escapes me) said he was jsut taking a breather, and went back onto the ship and became normal again. The main character has a green diamond symbol in his forehead and the main villains are made up of his family. He has a twin brother who is evil and a father (or it coud just be an evil guy) who is also evil and has his base on the dark side of the moon. He has a little sister, revealed later in the series, who drifts between good and evil. All of his family emembers can trnsform of course. I've been wondering what this anime is for the longest time and I finally decided to ask. Please hep me find out the name of this.

That's a little bit older anime (92-93), although I have to say I really liked it - it's called Tekkaman Blade and has 49 episodes with OVA sequel called Tekkaman Blade II (6 eps.) taking place 10 years after the end of the TB I. :wink:
