Hi, I've been looking for a couple of Animes for a long time without any success, so any help would be great. I know if I saw a still for either of them I'd probably recognise it.
1) I saw this when we were living in Sudan from 1990 to 1993 off a friend's video. It's a Science Fiction story but I've only seen this one sceen. It has a young boy go into a loading bay whilst a lady bangs on its locked door trying to get the boy out, saying he's too young. The boy then flies on a robot horse with wings towards a giant robot or alien. There is a huge explosion, and the boy's lifeless torso (he is an android), limbs torn off, falls to the ground. The whole group of people are gathered there, and the lady weeps over his body. Despite the violence this might be a kids' Anime because of the whole battling robots thing. It was dubbed into English.
2) I caught sight of this one on TV in Kazakhstan sometime when we were living in Almaty (it was from 1993 to 1997, but I think I saw the animation between '96 and '97). It was overdubbed in Russian or Kazakh, and the previous track was in English.
The basic story line I think is that soldiers invade a small town or village, but I'm not sure where. They storm into family homes, there are shootings, executions, a soldier gets run over by a tank and I think towards the end a baby dies in the arms of its mother, who is among a group of women from the village wandering in the countryside as refugees I think. These were in the title credits actually, in a sort of montage over some classical music. The beginning of the film shows a young boy in a town square buying food at a stall, and meeting one of his friends. Another sequence I remember is that a small toy wagon rolls down the street, broken I think, and the young boy stares as it goes down. I switched on a little later and the boy was in some building with some men. A man appears and it turns out to be the boy's father. The father seems to remember the man getting run over by the tank. Other shots I remember are of a young man or boy getting shot in the head, a couple of men who are tied up are executed by firing squad, and a woman is pushed against the wall by a soldier.
