If 5.00 grams of oxalyl chloride (127g/mol) reacts with excess water what is the theoretical yield of HCL (g)? HCl = 36.5/mol
if 1.00 gram of CHl is formed by the reaction what is the percent yield of HCl?
I am given: Cl-C-C-Cl (and the C are double bonded with O which makes it C2O2Cl2) + 2H2O ----> HO-C-C-OH (C is again double bonded with O) + 2HCL.
Is that diagram necessary? What is the HO-C-C-OH with C double bonded to O equation?
Thanks for the help... as you can see I'm really lost!
