My husband wants to buy some property and has asked me to sign off any ownership on it; if I don't he threatens me with divorce. I signed off on our house, I have no ownership in anything we have. I pay all my own bills & if we go on vacation I pay half. We don't have joint accounts. His is his and mine is mine... He feels like if I am to be owner I have to pay half the $$$, but I don't have that much money & because I am re-educating myself am now dipping into my 401K to support myself. I am wondering how most married couples handle finances and if I am wrong to feel insecure & like if we divorce I will end up old with nothing and would be better off dating him and let him keep everything he has. What are YOUR financial arrangements in marriage? Are wives expected to pay half of everything or else sign off on things? Do husbands help their wives with money or is marriage supposed to be 50/50 everything. Tell me about how you handles finances, what is fair & how marriage works these days....
