Financial Aide question... EMERGENCY!?

I've heard if you fail a class you lose your financial aide. Is this true? How does this work? I got a "D" as my final grade in my class. This is the first class I've ever failed, by the way.
Any help, any knowledge.... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
