Financial Aid & Sororities?

I am attending college with a lot of help from government grants. Recently, I have become very interested in joining a sorority. I am wondering how, if at all, my financial aid package will be affected? If there is anyone out there recieving government assistance (i.e.the Pell Grant, etc.) and in the Greek system please let me know what your experience regarding need-based aid was. Thank you!

Your aid shouldn't be affected because of an extracurricular activity, even if you plan to live in house. Mine wasn't reduced when I joined, so I'm sure yours won't be either. They award money to cover the costs of tuition, housing, and other expenses. The aid is based on need, so they don't care if you decide to live in the dorms, an apartment or a sorority. I know for sure that Pell Grants aren't taken away or reduced.
