Next year, I will be going to college. I am currently looking at some of the schools I'm thinking about applying to, but I was wondering how exactly the FAFSA works. I know a family friend of ours had an EFC of like 4000 and is going to community college, so he is expected to pay everything. If my EFC is 4000, and I go to a school that costs 20,000, how will that work?
