Financial aid question...please help?

Today I went to my college to buy books for the semester starting next week. i told them employee i had a book voucher and asked her how much it was. She said "1,045 dollars", so i bought my books. The remaining amount is something like 600 bucks. My question is, does that 1045 include the money for my tuition? Like..if I bought the books, does that mean i only have 600 dollars to pay my tuition with and the rest is outta pocket?

Please help, thanks
