Financial aid question: I have a bunch of siblings?

My father makes around 225,000. It would seem that college would be easy to afford, but that isn't the case. I have five other siblings, and to make matters more difficult, four of us will be attending college at the same time.

I've had my heart set on attending a certain private school, but the tuition is nearly 46,000. Will they take the fact that my parents have five more kids to send to college into consideration?

Part of the number of children going to college at the same time will be taken into account when they process your application, but unfortunately the main determining factor comes from the amount of your family's EFC (estimated family contribution) - how much your family should be able to put towards your education- as to how much financial aid you and your siblings will receive. I would plan on looking into scholarships and not relying solely on grants. Student loans will probably be in your future, but really try for scholarships. Do some volunteer work before you start applying, even try mentoring. Both of these will give you a head start in the scholarship game because they show leadership and community service. Good luck! Don't let money stop you from achieving your dreams of going to that school. It will happen one way or another.
