Okay so I don't talk to either of my parents. My father is in prison somewhere- not exactly sure where and I haven't talked to him since 2003 (lots of reasons for that). Now my mother I just met a few years ago and shes the type of person who will only come around when she needs something and life is really going hard. So I haven't heard from her since Christmas time in 08. I've tried to call her to get information for my FASFA form because I'm 21 with a child but since I didn't work in 2008 they said that I need to have one of my parents information. Now how do I go about it if I tried to get my parents information and failed miserably. I'm not married I have a son I live with my boyfriend, but were not married- so where do I go from here? Any question I'm going to check this every so often so I can post answers for you.
They told me that I wasn't considered independent until I was 24 and because I didn't work in 2008 therefore didn't supply half of my income or more to my child I still needed my parents information- and not talking to them or knowing how to reach them isn't a good enough excuse for them.
