Financial aid help please....?

Ok so I got the results of my fafsa nad it said I scored a 9,000 and was not eligible for the pell grant. Now financially me and my parents are in a rut so I do not understand why I was not accepted. I am actually not going to be getting any assistance from them because I don't live with them. I was wondering where do I go from here because I was sorta relying on this. I will appreciate any input on this. Thank you.
 
The thing is that for Federal Financial Aid purposes, you will be considered "dependent" until you are 24, or married, or have a child that you support, or are in the military, or are an orphan or are in an abusive home situation REGARDLESS of where you live. The FAFSA form for the 09-10 school year goes on income from 2008. If there are special circumstances such as loss of income, you do need to make an appointment with your FA Office. Otherwise, bite the bullet, your family just made too much money to qualify.
