Hi,
I am asking this question actually on behalf of my boyfriend who has been extremely frustrated to the point where he now thinks his degree is completely worthless. He majored in Finance with a Bachelor of Science with a 3.2 GPA from a Midwestern university state school. He really wants to go into Investment banking but as he told me he has applied to literally a couple thousand jobs through career search sites and has come up with nothing (since roughly January). I am trying hard to encourage him to keep trying because our economy is in a bad situation now, but after he explains that the only people contacting him are commission based companies that a high school grad can do...I am starting to doubt what his degree really was worth. Even his school just helped w/resume and CL.
Where do you think he should focus in terms of jobs to apply to or just what to do in general?
Also, does him having relevant job experience from a foreign country work against him? He is a U.S. citizen.
