Finally!!!!

Any news on the phone selection?

It still bugs me that when I vacation to Vegas, as I regularly do, I am unable to use my Cricket service in a Cricket market.

ok. a) you can use your cricket service their, you would be using roaming minutes. do you at least understand why? because i don't want to have to explain it again... currently there are 3 phones available that will work on the AWS banRAB. The UTStarcom 7126, the Samsung SPEX and MyShot. There are several more in the lineup but it takes time. I find it funny that everyone was complaining about this taking so long now that it's here it's not good enough. Trust me Cricket is doing the best they can with what is available to them.

Only partially true. The only phones that will work in Vegas without roaming on Cricket's network are AWS hanRABets. The aforementioned Spex and Myshot and the 7126. If you are a Cricket customer from anywhere else and you dont have one of those three, YOU WILL BE ROAMING.

If you travel to Vegas often though, a new phone is a small price to pay for not roaming here.

So. Coverage details? Pricing is the same as the rest of Cricket I assume? Will you guys have coverage in Primm, or will that be roaming?

I understand that I'll be roaming out there, but the concept of my phone with Cricket service roaming in a Cricket market just sounRAB skewed. I do like the idea of getting a spare AWS phone, though.

i heard really great things about the coverage area in Vegas. I know a lot of people that go there multiple times a year for business... if Cricket would pick up a damn PDA phone I guarantee I could get all of them to switch...

Man, dealers there will be making money hand over fist... all the service industry workers and random contruction/ labor class folks...

BTW I went to the website (mycricketlv) an played the games... I won a total of $20 in cricket credit, and 2 tshirts... in 5 minutes now it wont let me win anymore, i can only play for fun... the games are super easy so getting free stuff is quite easy. I may try again in a new browser... or clear cookies and try again.

So Woof, you were all excited to talk about it. Any good news? Cool new phones? I did a study at the MGM here recently with a bunch of known cricket phones and a couple unknowns. There were a couple awesome nokias. Any chance we see something better than the *shudders* Spex coming out soon? And, any coverage map jpegs or pngs? When will the website go live? Oh yeah. Any news of possible PDA phones coming to cricket yet, since we can't flash for the Vegas market?

imho the spex is rock solid, by far the best economy phone cricket has ever carried. Bluetooth support with file transfer!!! says it all...

Well, be that as it may, I personally think its ugly. I haven't looked at any of the specs in it, because I just can't get past the looks. One of the phones I saw in the test was a 'rumor-esque' phone with the slideout keypad, and a couple flip Nokia phones. They were all pretty cool looking, expescially the Nokia phones.

I'd really like a PDA. If I could get a PDA, and Cricket EV-DO out in Primm, I'd cancel my T-Mo contract in a heartbeat. GSM is great with the freedom to switch phones on a whim, but unlimited everything for $50 can't be beat.... Especially since I only travel between Primm, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake. All of which are Cricket native markets if Woof is correct about Primm being covered. Metro doesn't even cover that far out.
