This is something that should have happened along time ago. The new oxycontin formulation is out and i must say, it is very effective at detouring ppl like myself who abuse it. Instead of feeling and overwhelming sense of dread, anger, i felt relieved, and more than anything....taht this should have occured years ago. The new Oxy's which now have an OP instead of OC are slightly larger... this was news to me when i got my script. Boy, did it stop me in my tracks... it is nearly impossible to break........THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE YEARS AGO! The new formulation has 100% blocked me from abusing, thers no getting around it. FINALLY! This needed to happen, this drug has ruinned so many lifes. Its still "suppost" to be as effective as the original, but ive been extensively researching this and seems to not be, which sucks for people on it for real pain and not abusing.

Hey icehouse,

Thanks for sharing :) Hopefully, there will be less people addicted to this scary drug. I wish it was available like this when I was abusing pills. I never would've gone as far as I did.

ya theres no getting around it...all you can do it swallow it....hammer, horseclamp....it gels as well....dont even bother. swallow it the way it was intended to be used, yes they shoulda came out with it years ago, but i have a strong feeling purdue isnt happy about this as well, but were forced to take measures. partys over for the abusers out there!

Purdue Labs has recently sought to decrease the abuse potential of the drug Oxycontin, in it's extended release form. The pills were able to be abused by crushing and snorting them. To reduce abuse potential of the drug, they have added a bonding agent that is not water soluble or crushable.
People using this new formulation including myself, are finding little pain relief and numerous side affects and undissolved pills in the stools.
Purdue thought that it was worth reducing patient welfare to make abuse potential lower.
They have created a new monster.
Now street thugs are getting even more money for "warehoused" Oxycontin OC.
The street price for the Oxycontin OP has dropped significantly.
Now at 50 cents and $1 per pill, even youngsters can afford to get them.
Even if the pill can't be crushed for a stronger effect, they can now afford to just swallow a bunch more pills at once to get that "high".
So what Purdue has in effect done was made CERTAIN that kiRAB and all who buy the new lower street cost extended relief Oxycontin OP for abuse purposes, are treated to a 12 hour high, minimum.
When the kiRAB come down from a few 12 hour multi pill doses of this new "abuse free" formula, are they going to now be less addicted. It seems to me like the addiction risk is now worse.
