The Mental Health Service doctor had been trying to convince me that I needed a pill, but for one reason or another I kept holding off on it. I asked her about Elavil, but then she decided that it wasn't a good drug for me to start on. The choice was between Zoloft and Mirtazapine. She prescribed me mirtazapine. I've never even heard of this. Do any of you take it? What are your experiences with it? Thanks for any help. I'm new to this whole world of anxiety.

Sorry, don't know anything about Mirtazapine. I was on Zoloft for a year to treat depression and anxiety, and I've been tapering off for the past 3 months.

Previously, I was taking klonapin to help treat my anxiety, but I didn't like the side effects and the constant urge to take more than I was prescribed.

Zoloft (setraline) helped my anxiety a lot. So much so that I was able to quit klonapin cold turkey, without looking back! Haven't touched a benzo in well over a year now.

Yes, Zoloft has helped my anxiety a lot. Good luck on Mirtazapine. I'm sure it will be equally as effective.
